Scott Abel has put together a new conference called Technical Documentation Roundup, held May 21-23, 2019, in Menlo Park, California. If you're interested in attending the conference, there's currently an opportunity to get two tickets for the price of one.

I asked Scott to tell me a little bit about the conference. Here’s the high-level description:

Technical Documentation RoundUp Conference

Brought to you by The Content Wrangler, Technical Documentation RoundUp takes place May 21-23, 2019, in Menlo Park, California. Join us for three days filled with presentations, discussions, case studies, and hands-on workshops designed to teach you how modern technical communication shops create, manage, and deliver technical content.

The first day of The RoundUp is focused on helping you better understand yourself and those you serve. We’ve invited some of the best and brightest experts from the fields of cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, communication leadership, and personal productivity to help us master the science behind understanding people and the art of influencing them.

You’ll hear from mindfulness expert Janet Fouts (about the difference between empathy and compassion) and from behavioral change specialist Andrew Lawless about the importance of using science to build technical documentation team synergy. Time management coach Alexis Haselberger will share tactics that successful people use to accomplish their personal goals and keep their business project timelines on track. She’s also agreed to teach a time management mastery half-day workshop. And Nance Rosen, "America’s Top Job Coach," will help you find the exact words and phrases to convince others to trust, like, and care about your ideas and your work.
