I gave a presentation titled "Why users can't find answers in help" to the Silicon Valley STC chapter yesterday. As promised, here's a recording of the presentation:

Audio recording

If you just want the audio, here it is:

Download MP3 (right-click, then Save Link As)

The audio file should also be on the podcast in iTunes.

Presentation slides

Here are links to the slides:

I actually use Illustrator to create the slides and then export the images and import them into PowerPoint. If you just want the Illustrator file to use any of the vector graphics, you can download it here: Illustrator file.

Feel free to re-use any of my graphics as long as you attribute them to me.

Game assets

I also incorporated a game into this presentation. Here's the handout for the game:

If you have any feedback about the presentation, let me know. We had a small group of about a dozen people at the chapter meeting. The discussion was lively, but you might have to strain a bit to hear when people besides me or the people in front are talking.
