Recording of my STC Sacramento presentation -- Why users can't find answers in help material
A few months ago I gave a presentation to the STC Sacramento chapter on findability of help content.
Here's a link to the audio recording, slides, and other material:
Download MP3 (right-click, then Save Link As)
- PowerPoint slides zip file | pptx | slideshare
- Sample of one-page help
- Sample long topic
- Game worksheet
This presentation was similar to other presentations I gave on the same topic. However, since the presentation is highly interactive, the discussion varies quite a bit from presentation to presentation.
Note that there may be gaps of periodic silence during the presentation where someone is making a comment. The audience was pretty small (maybe 14 people?), so if you listen carefully, you can probably hear the comments. If not, I usually try to summarize what the commenter is saying.
